Great American Cleanup® — Saturday, May 2, 2026 Hosted by the Fountain Creek Watershed District

More Information

Join thousands of volunteers across the country for the Great American Cleanup® — and right here in our own backyard. The Fountain Creek Watershed District is organizing a one-day cleanup of our local watershed on Saturday, May 2, and there’s a role for everyone whether you want to lead a crew or just show up and help.

How to Get Involved

Want to lead a cleanup?

Register as a Crew Leader to claim a site and organize your group. Crew Leaders are responsible for reserving a location, picking up supplies, and completing a brief safety orientation before the event. Free cleanup gear — trash bags, gloves, grabbers, and more — is available through FCWD. Crew Leader registration closes April 20.

Just want to show up and help?

Register as a Crew Member — no planning required. Find an existing cleanup near you, sign up, and show up ready to make a difference. Crew Member registration is open now.  Click HERE to see the map.  Click HERE to register.

Find a Cleanup Location Near You Use the interactive cleanup map HERE to browse available sites. Sites shown in green are unclaimed and open. Don’t see a spot you’d like to clean up? Email the Watershed Outreach Coordinator at fountaincreekoutreach@gmail.com to request a new site.

Note: A site must be claimed by a Crew Leader before Crew Members can sign up for it.

Public vs. Private Cleanups Public cleanups are open to all volunteers and listed on the map. Private cleanups are organized by specific groups and only visible to invited participants.

Bring what you can — gloves, trash bags, buckets, and grabbers are all helpful — but free supplies are available through FCWD if you need them.
