Skyline Trail is about 2 miles in length. It is nicknamed the Powerline Trail because of it’s alignment with large, obtrusive powerlines. The trail is well used by locals, it has a number of neighborhood access points. There are several street crossing, proceed with caution at crosswalks; note, major crossings at Briargate Blvd and Research Pkwy (use light at Chapel Hills Dr). North of Research Pkwy the trail is dirt, the rest of the trail is wide, smooth concrete.  This trail is considered moderate due to rolling hills with significant elevation gain and loss. There are some iconic switchbacks near Mirage Dr.

Connections: There are several neighborhood access points along the trail. The trail transitions to Woodmen Trail at Briargate Blvd and heads east. There is a spur that leads to Rampart Community Park, which has disc golf, sports courts/fields and a dog park! Skyline Trail travels by High Plains Elementary School. Reflection Pond is visible from the trail and can be accessed via sidewalks on Parliament Dr. Use the sidewalks along Briargate Pkwy to reach John Venezia Community Park and Briargate Trail.

Future Plans: The trail will continue north, eventually connecting to the La Foret & Smith Creek Trails, which will provide access to the New Santa Fe Trail. View COS Park System Master Plan, which includes trail networks.
